Windsor Framework (WF)

The Windsor Framework is an agreement between the United Kingdom and the European Union, introduced in 2023, to simplify and improve the operation of the Northern Ireland Protocol.

 

It aims to reduce trade barriers between Great Britain and Northern Ireland by introducing measures such as simplified customs procedures, reduced checks on certain goods, and new schemes for trusted traders. It also establishes different processes for goods staying in Northern Ireland versus those moving on to the EU.

 

The Windsor Framework is designed to facilitate the smooth flow of goods, protect the EU Single Market, and support businesses trading between Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
