What is DDP?

Delivered duty paid (DDP) is a shipping agreement that places the maximum responsibility on the seller.

One of the Incoterms ® rules that divide transport, costs and risk obligations between buyers and sellers. Under DDP, the seller is responsible for all costs and risks associated with delivering the goods to a named place in the buyer’s country. This includes  transport, insurance, export and import formalities, even the payment of any import duties and taxes. When completing an import declaration under DDP incoterms the seller is listed as both the exporter and the importer of record on the customs declaration.
