Port Health Interactive Live Information System (PHILIS)
The Port Health Interactive Live Information System (PHILIS) is an electronic system used by UK Port Health Authorities to manage and record the import of certain controlled goods subject to sanitary and phytosanitary (SPS) checks.
It is primarily used for consignments of goods such as:
- Fishery products (wild-caught, from any country)
- Organic products imported from the Rest of World (RoW)
- Certain plastic kitchenware and food contact materials from China and Hong Kong
PHILIS is used to process documentation, record inspection results, and issue clearance decisions for these goods, supporting food safety and import control requirements at the border.
