Inland Temporary Storage Facility (ITSF)
An Inland Temporary Storage Facility (ITSF) is a customs-approved location away from the border where imported goods can be held under temporary storage before being placed under a customs procedure (such as release to free circulation or transit).
Goods can be moved from the port to an ITSF under customs control, allowing clearance to take place inland rather than at the frontier. This helps reduce congestion at ports and provides more flexibility for traders and customs agents to complete declarations.
Goods can typically remain in temporary storage for a limited period (usually up to 90 days) while awaiting customs clearance.
