Green Lane (NI)
The Green Lane is a customs arrangement introduced under the Windsor Framework that allows authorised businesses to move goods from Great Britain to Northern Ireland with reduced checks and simplified procedures, provided the goods are not intended to enter the EU.
Goods moving through the Green Lane must be declared as “not at risk” and are typically subject to fewer documentary and physical checks compared to standard import processes. This helps to speed up movements and reduce administrative burdens for eligible traders.
To use the Green Lane, businesses must be authorised under the UK Internal Market Scheme (UKIMS) and comply with specific requirements, including providing appropriate data and assurances that the goods will remain in Northern Ireland.
