Controlled Goods

Controlled Goods are items that are subject to specific restrictions or regulations when being imported, exported, or moved across borders. These controls are typically in place for reasons of health, safety, security, environmental protection, or international obligations.

Such goods may require licences, permits, certificates, or prior approvals from relevant authorities before they can be moved. Examples include weapons, chemicals, medicines, animals and animal products, plants and plant products, and dual-use items.

Failure to correctly declare or obtain the necessary authorisations for controlled goods can result in delays, seizure of goods, fines, or legal action.
