MEURSING codes

Meursing codes are used to determine which commodity code, and therefore how much duty, is applicable to your goods at importation in to the EU.  For example: the EU classifies confectionary and bakery products, food preparations and more as “composite agrigoods”. They are not just defined as “sweets” or “biscuits” but have additional requirements based on the percentages of their ingredients. This is called the additional code or Meursing code and depends on the level of four things in your product:
  • sucrose (including invert sugar)
  • starch/glucose
  • milk fat
  • milk protein

To ascertain your Meursing code simply complete the form below and our customs team will determine your code and notify you within 24 hours.

It should be noted that GB imports do not require Meursing codes from 1st January 2021 but imports to EU (including NI) do.
